My journey in real estate was shaped by a personal experience that taught me the importance of knowledge and preparedness in this industry. After discovering that my inherited family land had been auctioned off due to overdue taxes, I was driven to understand every facet of real estate, not just for myself, but to help others avoid similar hardships. This calling led me to become a real estate broker, and eventually, the founder of my own brokerage. As a leader, I am passionate about empowering my colleagues with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complex real estate landscape, and I see this role as Secretary of Maryland Realtors as an opportunity to advocate for fairness, ethical practices, and professional development on a larger scale.
The real estate industry is indeed facing significant challenges, from market fluctuations to evolving legal landscapes. My approach to addressing these challenges is rooted in transparency, innovation, and collaboration. With the recent lawsuit settlement affecting our industry, I am committed to providing real-time answers and solutions for our members. By leveraging technology, I aim to streamline our processes, making our association more responsive and accessible. Moreover, my extensive experience in leading discussions on short sales, foreclosures, and appraisal equity equips me with the knowledge to advocate for policies that protect and empower both realtors and homeowners alike.
I bring over two decades of real estate experience, during which I've navigated the highs and lows of the market while also overcoming significant personal challenges, such as my battle with cancer. My journey has been more than just about closing transactions—it's about transforming lives and advocating for fairness in our industry. I've held various leadership roles, including serving as the President of the Prince George’s County Association of REALTORS®, and on the State Commission of Real Estate Appraisers, which has deepened my understanding of our industry's complexities. My vision as Secretary is to foster an environment of collaboration and transparency while ensuring that our association remains at the forefront of ethical and professional standards. I am committed to serving with integrity, and I believe my blend of experience, passion, and resilience makes me uniquely qualified for this role.
